1 pt BELLANEY JEWEL 6/1 ( Bet 365) Scottish Borders National
1 pt win SHARP BELLINE 27/1 ( Betfair) Scottish Borders National

Bellaney Jewel is a typical staying Roselier who handles testing conditions well. A course winner, she gives the impression that there is further improvement to come over this extended trip, and can reverse the December Catterick form with Bang And Blame. Just as important is the fact that her mind is still right as alot of these marathon horses seem to lose interest after a couple of seasons and gain patchy profiles. Difficult to see her not being in the shake up here.

Sharp Belline performs consistently well at class 3 level around 3 mile. Below form in stronger company last time, confidence is increased by the fact that Sharp Belline is reunited with David OMeara who is 2/3 on the animal. Admittedly, there is a question mark over this extended trip, but there is a feeling that it's not just a case of ' well, we'll try again over this type of distance and see what happens'.Connections are not total guessers and they must harbour some realistic hope that Sharp Belline can perform in this type of event. Worth speculative support at present odds.
